NNRCS In Talks of Bringing Forth New Rule for 2011

Recently, there has been some talk surrounding the events that transpired from late last season, specifically centered about cars that are a lap down (or more) and off the pace, and being a nuisance to traffic. The topic was most notably brought forth from Alex Rush's constant holding-up of traffic all around whenever he was already well out of contention for a victory; a display was demonstrated by Rush late 2010 at Gateway and Myrtle Beach, not to mention him being just an all-around nuisance to everyone else at Indianapolis.

Aside from the incidents involving Rush from 2010, lapped cars have been known to be a problem at super speedway races, when in a situation similar to Rush's regular ones, a lapped car can slow down traffic significantly more than any other track genre when those cars are left unchecked, and on more than one occasion, cause a major accident.

While Alex Rush, as of the moment, is not going to return to NNRCS competition in 2011, concerns were still expressed by many of the people involved with the league. If talks stand before or after the exhibit race at Talladega, this is what the rule would look like: Simply enough, if you are considerably off the pace and holding up traffic at any track in any circumstance, you will be parked. If you fail to park, you will not be scored, and penalties will be determined.
