What would you do if you ran NASCAR?

I found this on another forum and thought it'd be interesting to post a topic like it here.

I was just wondering what you guys would do if you ran NASCAR.

Here's what i'd do:
Cup:
Take all snoozefest track off the schedule
More road course races.
Eliminate the chase.

Nationwide:
Ban all cup drivers from competing in the Nationwide series.

Truck:
Ban Cup and NNS drivers from competing in truck series.

NASCAR as a whole:
Ban Toyota and more better manufacturers.

Cup:
Change/Eliminate two-car tango. Shorted race lengths. Go to more and better short tracks.

Nationwide:
Ban cup drivers. Remake COT into something more attractive looking.

Truck:
Add more Fords and Dodges.


NASCAR as a whole:
Take out Toyota. ;D

They've tried to do this before, hasn't worked so far.

All Series's:
More short tracks, road courses, and eliminate boring cookie-cutters.
Cup:
Eliminate a race from Pocono and Kansas.
NASCAR In General:
More TV coverage for the developmental series's.
Eliminate ESPN from covering anything motorsport...period.
Bring back TNN!

Good ideas here...this man knows what he is talking about.

First of all: FOX/SPEED does all 36 cup races with Versus doing Nationwide SPEED doing Truck Series. I'd also make sure Whelen Modified is televised more often.

CUP:

Keep the chase; Put a roadie in.
Eliminate 2 car draft at Daytona & Talladega.
Add 2-3 road course races

NATIONWIDE:

Ban cuppies

TRUCK:

Ban cuppies
Put more short tracks; this is supposed to be a development series!
Add 1 road course

BUILD GRAND DETOUR

no cuppies in Nationwide
no nationwidies in truck
and so on..
f**k ESPN
more TV coverage for smaller Series'
more short tracks for Trucks and nationwide.
maybe make trucks a twin-race as a test?...

Somehow change Dover and Bristol back to the way they were, they're kinda boring now.

Nate, if you ran NASCAR, I wouldn't watch.

1- any track that has a infield road course would be their second date

2- Montreal would get a Cup date

3- I would still have Cup drivers race in Nationwide or the truck series, but no matter where they place, nothing will count, not even the win, and they will get paid 1/4 of what they would of got.

4- dump the Chase

5- If your team is known to be a S&P team, in order to park, you have to run at least 50 consecutive laps.

6- extend the GWC to 5 laps, and only give them 2 instead of 3 tries, and rename it to "don't f*** up this time"

7- get rid of the yellow line

8- do what ARLA did and send them to an Ice track

9- same as above but send them to a dirt track

10- if a track has a second date but no infield road course, have them race the other way.

11- tear down the housing development in Riverside and rebuild the track like it was in 1988

12- buy North Wikesboro

13- bring back Rockingham

14- hire people who will hit the ESPN commentators with a fish if they screw up

15- if the race is a snooze fest, throw out the caution, put everybody on the lead lap, and flip the field so the leader would be last and the last place car is first.

16- if #14 doesn't work, hire Cynon, Ceej, and crl as commentators, and give Nick, Josh, and Woody pit reporter (no hard feelings guys)

17- do a rotation for the All star race

18- bring Cup to Road America

19- Rename Steven Wallace Derek Dudding

20- if there is a fight, give them a weapon and shout "MORTAL KOMBAT!"

21- if 16 doesn't work, get the guys from the ISRA teamspeak to commentate a race....

I would NOT take Montreal off the damn Nationwide schedule.

I agree with most everything Dan said.

Speaking of commentators, I plan to commentate the longer NNRCS races with some voice editing.
