Forgive my random thought burst here: I can't help but notice (as if it weren't as blatantly obvious as it appears to be) how all these different people on the internet create alter egos of themselves; their own fantasy characters freely representing who they are. Fan characters is one words for it -- actually, two words -- although I felt that's not always the case. Anyone who's familiar with Deviantart and the Brony fandom will immediately know what I'm talking about, even though in many cases these "alter egos" aren't based about a fandom. It intrigues me that the internet in itself is like a second world to us.
TL;DR - Read the last sentence of that paragraph. I think too much.

You should re-evaluate what you define as thinking too much. If you really do indeed "think too much" you would probably say that it an air of, how should I put this, desperation, I would say.

It's been 11 years since the 9/11 attacks, let us never forget what we've lost due to the attacks and the aftermath in the years afterward.

I really don't want to think of today as a day commemorating a national disaster. I just hate to think of all the lives lost to so many people on that day in 2001. Because I fear I'll get blasted if I don't say this, but I still do feel for the victims of other such disasters as well as people we've affected. It's just so, for a lack of a better word, eerie that people all around me can connect to the disaster. I will not forget the victims of various attacks around the globe, and I feel that the people who joke about such disasters because they don't have any connections have no idea what it's like to be missing somebody because of it. For me, the worst part of all this is that my Dad almost got a job at the World Trade Center months before the attacks. I'm so glad he turned it down.
As I've so often heard it called, today is Patriot Day. While I may often get angry at the stupid things we do as a nation, this is my home. When we're not getting into wars we don't need to be in, we're an accomplished people, and we try what's in our power to do what is right (in most cases). You don't need to look at the politicians, religious nuts and rednecks to see what we've done right and wrong, but of the brilliant minds which call this nation home to them. Keep that trend going!
