Don’t know when the vid will be up, but the race has been run for a while now. In the meantime, I’ll write up some headlines:
Short, Calamicom place both entires into field
For the first time all year, we will see both of these teams fielding both of their cars in the main event.
Starting with Calamicom, Ray Davis will finally make his debut in the #14 Polaris Dodge, along with teammate Tobias Newbridge in the #41. Although Newbridge qualified last, his teammate found some success, putting his car in the 22nd position after staying in the round 1 transfer spot for a solid chunk of the session.
Short Racing Corporation also places both cars in the field this weekend, after stellar qualifying performances from Brian Hensler and to a lesser extent, Kyle Korbett. Both drivers made their debut at the Michigan International Speedway, and it shows in their performance so far. Hensler qualifies 19th.
“It’s been a tough year for everyone here,” he remarked, “Ive personally been through this before and all I can tell you is that these guys care. They care, they may not have the success they’d like but they care, and as a driver I want nothing more than to reward their dedication.”
Korbett echoed his statement, saying “It’s never easy, especially here. But, everyone has been great. This is a professional organization and I know we will turn it around here at some point. Things like this happen, there’s going to be periods where your team needs to adjust and adapt to the new wave of competition, and the foundation we’re trying to build shows just that.”
Korbett placed his #4 Red Lobster Dodge in the 41st starting position, which isn’t ideal. However, just two races ago, on a much smaller and more difficult track, Mikael Carter won from the final starting position. So hey, who knows what can happen with these guys.
