To be considered a prospect, the driver cannot have had/have a full-time AERS contract.
1. Brad Kurtis
Currently In: AYG
Rights: Shell Motorsports/Silver Green (AERS)
Brad Kurtis is the reigning Aflac Yung Guns champion, and to this, many were surprised to see he was staying for another AYG season, something that should develop Kurtis even more until he is ready for the big time.
2. David Pilar
Currently In: AYG
Rights: Scawles Racing Team (AERS)
David Pilar is a quiet driver with a very high upside. Pilar has another season in AYG to further his development, as he seemed to struggle his first year in stock cars after a solid rookie showing in the trucks.
3. Darcy Lusk
Currently In: AYG
Rights: JN Development (AYG)
Darcy Lusk has been in an AERS ride several times, but still nothing has come out of his already two Yung Guns seasons. He was reportedly upset about how JN has managed his development, and another year of AYG could potentially hurt some hidden talent.
4. Bethany Baltano, Jr.
Currently In: Unemployed
Rights: Free Agent
The reigning truck champion is looking for a ride in the AERS, but will also settle for an AYG ride according to sources. Baltano has shown great consistency which could prove to be troublesome to maintain in higher tiers.
5. Kyle Korbett
Currently In: AYG
Rights: Opp, Inc. (AYG)
Kyle Korbett made the switch to Opp, Inc. last season and had quite the year, finishing in the top-5 in the final point standings. Korbett has waited long like Lusk, but this should be his last year of lower-tier development.
6. Zach McRae
Currently In: AYG
Rights: Clason Enterprises (AYG)
McRae was thought of as the next Florence Garth in his early days in his first AARO season in the regionals, and those sentiments were hyped into a decent truck performance. There's no telling where this kid will go, but he's got plenty of upside and its up to fate to determine whether he reaches that upside or not, if we knew for sure he'd reach it, he'd be #1 on this list without a doubt.
7. Casey Anderson
Currently In: AYG
Rights: Anderson Racing (AERS)
Casey Anderson has flashes of excellence through his career, and some flashes of not-so-excellent in there as well. After a solid 2012 truck performance, Anderson has silenced all his critics and is looking to develop further as he heads into his first AYG season.
8. Cody Renesse
Currently In: ANTS
Rights: Renesse Racing (AERS)
Cody Renesse has been hyped since he decided he was going to race. Many people would have Cody in their top-3, but as it is right now, he has too much untapped potential to really judge how good of a prospect he really is. So only time will tell.
9. Clyde Latinger
Currently In: AYG
Rights: JN Motorsports (AERS)
Clyde has been in the spotlight for a while for JN Development, but he needs to put up better results if he wants to compete for an AERS ride in 2015.
10. Scott Greer
Currently In: AYG
Rights: Kyle Dobson Motorsports (AYG)
Greer has spent the last three seasons in the trucks, and with a move to AYG in 2014 it'll be interesting to see how well he does and if he truly does deserve to be in the top 10 prospects.
