| Keith Batson did not show up to the qualifying race for reasons as of yet unknown. The field for the qualifying race rolls off with 38 cars. The starting grid was set by practice times. J.J. Phipps was on the pole with a blazing lap of 43.969 seconds. Cars in RED do not advance to the race event. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quiet race, but it was still exciting to watch. Not much to talk about aside from Landon Underwood blowing up in front of half the field and Matt Constant running into Daniel Leckliter on pit road. The funniest part though, for me, was the runner-up Brandon Corna blowing up on pit road after the race was already over.
Also, the laps led by the #86 are all because everybody pitted during the final laps. He tried at least 20 times to get around Brandon Corna while he was leading and never got it done.

NNRCS Releases Statement On Qualifying Day: "We will not tolerate backmarkers!"
Before the season had started, the NNRacing.com Cup Series had mentioned the possibility of the league cracking down on backmarkers in their league, to which the media had dubbed, "The Alex Rush Rule". They confirmed this rule to be so by releasing the statement "We will not tolerate backmarkers!" on qualifying day.
During the course of practice, the #8 of Scott Jarnagin had exited his stall for a fuel run, but when he got on track, it was clear that something was wrong -- he was 45 mph slower than everyone else, who was doing roughly 200 mph. And for some reason, he did not come into the pits to rectify whatever the problem was. He held up whole packs of cars for the last half of the session, and was the cause of a wreck when AJ Stravato, Frank Harris, and the four car pack they were running in caught up to a pack which Jarnagin was holding up. Harris darted low to pass, and was spun by AJ Stravato. The result was a trip to the inside Turn 3 wall for the #90, who managed to keep off anyone or anything else and limp to pit road.
"If the #8 had done what he did during the race, we would've slapped him with a point penalty and a two race suspension.," said the NNRCS. "Driving like that is absolutely unacceptable. If we see that during the race, you will be penalized, no exceptions."

| The way I'm going to do the race broadcast is like this: The intro/starting lineup/Track Tours segment will have it's own video, as will the race itself, although depending on how many clips I wind up using, I may have two videos for it. Right now I'm just getting starting lineup graphics out of the way. Here's a preview: - Spoiler:
