Red Bull Racing will end its five-year Sprint Cup Series tenure when the team closes its doors on Thursday.

Sirius/XM NASCAR Radio’s “Sirius Speedway” reports the team’s 150 employees will be laid off and the competition shop will shut down on Thursday.

After 284 Sprint Cup starts, over 106,000 competitive laps and two victories, the team informed its remaining employees this week that Thursday will be the final day of operation.

According to the report, a memo was distributed by the team's Human Resources Manager outlining severance procedures and establishing a schedule for exit interviews. After a brief team meeting, the team will raffle off sheet metal, mementos and photos that have hung at the Red Bull shop and distribute cases of Red Bull to departing employees.

"We know it will be a difficult day for everyone," said the memo, "as a large number of employees will be exiting the facility."

The team ran two cars in 2011 with Kasey Kahne and Brian Vickers as drivers.

So it's not going to be purchased by a buyer?

It's unknown who will buy the 83 and the 4.

It's all ok. They kick a** in Formula 1 and motocylces or whatever the hell the race as well. They'll still be making boatloads of dinero.

I believe this was from about a week ago. I don't see the point in such reactions.

Kyle Busch has decided to bring his team to the Cup Series. He will get the Red Bull cars and owner points with support from Joe Gibbs Racing. Kyle Busch Motorsports will be a 2 car team. He is trying to get released from Joe Gibbs Racing to drive for his team. Kyle's brother Kurt will drive the the other car for the team. Numbers and Sponsors are yet to be announced.
