NORA/AARO Poetry Thread

Snake suggested this at EFR and it seems to be really popular, so I thought I'd bring it here. Just write a short poem (haiku, limerick, cinquain, whatever you want) about something to do with a league on the NORA/AARO canon.

Old Herb Cilantro was largely unknown,
As late models roared in Bristol's asphalt town
But then he discovered the AARO's allure
And now for a bad race this man is the cure.

Jennifer Smith is a hard-charging girl
Who sent AARO history into a swirl.
Cobra Starship lyrics were all her mouth versed
As she drove across Grand Detour's finish line first.

Jack Walter was always a hunk.
His victories never were flunks.
But then he took a drink,
Didn't have time to think,
Now he's just known for being a drunk.

Jake Bauffard's a pure source of strife.
You do NOT want this man in your life.
If you talk to him once,
He'll treat you like a dunce
And he might just run off with your wife!

The whole field is wrecked
This can only mean one thing
We're at McKinley!

On NORA Ron Mertz has a very hard grip.
He's the man who's won 9 of its championships.
This may sound familiar, but I'd shake with fear
If I ever saw his number 3 in my mirror.

We're in Sarnia
Scransen comes into the pits...
Oh no! He just wrecked!

Nick Kozoro used to be good
He has a championship?
Hard to believe right?

And his smile grew bigger,

There once was a track known as Lowell
Where the races were called boredom bowls.
But when Ron Mertz stepped in,
The fans just had to grin,
'Cause its action is now on a roll!

Stanley Moon's talent was innate.
The car he drove was sure to fly.
But now I'm sure he dominates
At the big speedway in the sky.

I have to say the ones you made were incredibly amazing, and I cannot do poetry to save my life.

who had a last name that people seemed to hate
he drives a black 83

Lol. Its ok Tyson. Can we make PG-13 poems? I have some good ideas but the language is not the cleanest.

I also suck at poems but..


Walter Green is a
inexperenced driver
who races well at all

Being in the chat box is normally loads of fun
Then when I come in, everyone is done
I don't know what they are afraid of facing
But I'm not as interesting as online racing.

I knew i sucked on poems

I was never too good at "rhyming" poetry in secondary school.

I heard this and I dumped her butt

Yes, it is a haiku, save the last sentence since it has too many syllables. Here's what it would look like the right way...

Walter Green is an
Inexperienced driver,
But still races well
