No, Mercedes GP took over from Brawn GP. I'm not to sure about this, but I think numbers follow the drivers, I've never exactly been sure of numbers tbh. The #1 will always follow the championship winning driver, no matter which team they go to, which means the second driver in the team will receive the #2. If a team won a championship, and loses their championship winning driver, I think they're given 3 and 4 (in the case of Brawn/Mercedes), new teams are given the lowest numbers in the position of when they were accepted into the sport, so in F1, if Villeneuve F1 is allowed to join, they'll be given the 26 and 27.
