Uh....You realize that's an automated email you get sent if the person puts your email into aim and you dont have an account with them....

Exactly. He knows your E-mail, so he put it in the "Find Friends" Search box on Aim. So Aim sees you dont have an account with that E-mail, and asks him if Aim should send you an "invite"....
