Mary Mertz to buy several cars from her husband, run several AARO races?

LOWELL, IN --

Mary Mertz has bought around 6 cars from her husband, Ron Mertz, to run possibly a part time season in the AARO AMP Energy Racing Series.

"I know I was suspended from NORA, but I didn't know what I was thinking, sneaking into Ron's cooler in his hauler and drinking some Miller Lite before Qualifying. I swear it won't happen again. I am proud to annouce the formation of my own team, Mary Mertz Motorsports, and Ron said he will give me technical support and hang the bodies on my cars for me. Josh will get around 10 of his guys to help me out as well, so I am excited to make my AARO debut, if I pass the Rookie Test."

It is unknown what number MMM will use, or if funding will appear. More to come later.

DDR Concerned About Mertz Entering AARO

Eichholtz Motorsports has no problem with Mertz

Team owner and driver Patrick Eichholtz has this to say about the formation of MMM: "I think its fine, and everyone at Eichholtz Motorsports welcomes her to the AERS. In this economy, its great we have new teams, giving people jobs in the motorsport world. She made a mistake, but we all do, and with her NCCS, I think she'll do great in the AARO."

Mary Mertz Confirmed For AERS 2010 Ride

David Stone, the AARO President reported this morning, "Mary can race if she wants. Her past must not become present, she screws up once and she's gone. I think she's learned from her actions, and hope that continues as she progressed. Who knows? Maybe she's found her racing home."

He also reported that, she could pick whatever available number she wants.

Mertz thanks Stone:

"Thanks for letting me race in your series, Mr. Stone. I will live up to the Mertz level of competition."

She's full time, however there is a one-off with 7. I'd choose another number.
