Carter looking to score a Top 10 at Boston

Mikael Carter is in the Boston AERS event for only the second time in his career. He DNQ'd in 2010 and was irrelevant in the 2011 event. Carter, who now drives for the 39 JN Motorsports operation, said he is excited for the race and plans to follow up a quiet 12th place Livonia finish.

"I'm not too familiar with Boston but I'm usually pretty good on these milers so it should be fun."

Carter said he enjoyed his first race weekend with JN Motorsports, and plans to deliver a fantastic season to a group of guys who have deserved it since 2009.

"Yeah I think these guys are the best group of guys in the garage. Obviously the 39 team wasn't as competitive the last couple years but so far this year, we're looking good and a good showing at Livonia did wonders for us and I'm glad we could qualify this week."

Carter said he didn't know what went wrong with Preston Bell, his teammate, who was using the same setup as Carter.

"Yeah I don't really know what happened." he said, "we've talked all week about how we're doing and Justin gave us some help as well so I don't exactly know what happened. I'm sure he'll rebound next week though, he's a great kid."


Scransen, Lancer, Hyerski among big names who will not compete in Ford 200

Surprisingly, Jalen Scransen in his Ovota Motorsports entry did not qualify for the Livonia 250, and the shock carried into the Qualifying races today as the #26 failed to finish in a transfer spot yet again.

"We were running fine for the most part, but after we got into the 89 midway through we just turned to complete s***. The guy has no talent and comes down in front of me and we take him and the other talentless hack in the 74 out of the race. I hate it for this team. Everybody including us knows we should be in the field for this race but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. We'll get 'em at Delaware."

Niklas Hyerski in the #81 was the only Garth Enterprises car to miss the field this weekend, something that surprised many in the garage.

"We had good car until the last laps." claimed Hyerski, "We hit the fence and the car start to be bad."

Hyerski smacked the turn 4 barrier in the closing laps of Q-Race 1 and fell from 11th to 21st.

Yet another surprise to miss the Ford 200 was Mario Lancer, who was looking to rebound from a heartbreak at Livonia, where the 27 looked to be a contender early. Lancer was turned by Darcy Lusk midway through for the only yellow of the second Qualifier.

"I hate it for these GSR guys. They work hard for all this and then bad luck strikes. I don't even know who is in that 44 car but whoever it was I have to apologize. I got off 2 pretty loose and cut across his nose and me, not thinking, charged after him once I sort of saved the car and took him out. Looking back at it, it was definitely my fault and I have to apologize."


Jeff Parshall looks to rebound from "embarassing" Livonia performance

Jeff Parshall's reputation he earned in the All Pro Tour last season is apparently still true as his wreckless driving continued into the Livonia 250. Parshall was involved in 3 of the 4 cautions and was a moving chicane to the leaders all race.

"It was embarrassing. I've never been one to drive so bad but man the car...I have to place all blame on the car it was just not drivable. I'm a star racecar driver so I'm sure that won't happen again but I've got to apologize for being such a factor in the race and I plan on being a factor in a good way this week at Boston."

Parshall said his 5 car ran well in the Qualifying race and should be a force in the 200.

"The car ran pretty good for me and I think I'll put it up front in the race. I'm confident and I believe I'm only getting started in this series."

Webler frustrated with his car but happy with results of teammate Pieper

After failing to qualify for the Ford 200, Eric Webler got out of his #49 SPEED Energy Chevy SS and slammed his fist on the roof of the car. "Piece of sh*t car, couldn't get me anywhere this whole f*ckin' race." we over heard Webler say to his crew chief Lukas Speidell. He started in the back, and stayed there. He did avoid a nasty wreck though. Once Eric had a chance to cool down, we were able to get a word with him. "I don't understand what went wrong. Everything was in the right place. This was gonna be the year for me I thought, then I f"cked that up by arriving to Livonia late. We tested her last year and the cars were good but today, something was wrong. I just don't understand it. Just want to say congrats to my buddy Casey [Lester]. He had the best car all race. He will be one to watch on race day." Eric did go atop Nate Pieper's Pit Box to watch the #94 and #04 race in Q-Race 2. Pieper did race his way in but Latinger did not. Nate Pieper said as he got out of his car "This thing is gonna need work." Nate wasn't too excited being the only Webler Motorsports car in the race. He don't like racing without a teammate. "The car was good but it needs to be better. It sucks that Eric [Webler] or Clyde [Latinger] didn't make it in. Just gonna make my race more difficult. Lets make this best of it." said Nate Pieper.

Preston Bell: It seemed lahke the car just dropped off as the race went on an' we dropped outta the transfer spots. We'll come back an' get 'em next week.

Barry Juveno: About time dat we f**kin' qualified. Shoulda been last week, but AARO f**ked me ova. Whateva. Let's focus on da race.
