Contey Disgusted With His Race; Takes 27th Place Finish"I'll take credit for that incident with the 53, and I apologize to him, but the rest of this race was a crapshoot. These are some of the worst cars I've ever driven in all the years I've been racing. The tires we ran on today were awful in every way; they were way too soft to be raced on, and they tore up a bunch of good cars out there, screwed over Bruce at the very end I hear; and that huge bump in T2 just adds insult to the injury. I hope the AERS does something about these tires, or I'm not coming back to this race next year." Contey later stated this on Monday: "I just want to give a shout-out to Fred Ritcher, who I never got to say goodbye to while I've been racing here. I want to congratulate him on his ninth championship, and, y'know, I'll see you around the track next season. It's been fun racing with you." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nick, if you didn't know what Save-a-Cone was, why don't you check my signature?

Casey Lester: Alright, I'll take a 25th. I've gotta tip my hat to Ritcher. He's really done fantastic throughout his career. Salute to you, Fred. I hope Mikael doesn't miss the 87 next year.

Ritcher Ends Career Poorly, Still Upbeat and Ready for Future; News, Notes for Saskatchewan
Fred Ritcher saw his 21 year career end today in Saskatchewan, and although he won the title and got to celebrate after the race, he was still not happy with a torn up 13 car which finished 34th, his only DNF in the near perfect season for the team.
"I was hoping for something more memorable.", he laughed, "But it's still nice to get the title and to be able to celebrate with my family and team for the final time, it's something I'll never forget, you know?"
Ritcher, 43, will now spot for Tommy Ritcher in the 2013 campaign, along with being the new Head of Development for Renesse Racing, and Co-Owning the Renesse Racing team, possibly making it Ritcher Racing in the future.
"I'm looking forward to that," he explained, "I'm excited for a new opportunity, something new to look into with this sport. I've had my success here and it's time to start thinking about my family's future and I think the new business roles will give me more time to spend with them and be with them as my kids continue to grow up. I want to be there, mentor them as they get older, like I've been doing with Tommy. I think he'll benefit more with some extra advice from me in the future."
Chad Lapinski Injured in Lap 44 Melee
Reports from Saskatoon have stated that Chad Lapinski, who was hospitalized after pounding the 0 of Jonathon Ringer head on, has sustained a mild concussion and broken clavicle. Lapinski was conscious and alert in the medical center, however, everybody decline to comment. Lapinski will most likely be cleared to race just before the season opener at Livonia.
Scransen Somewhat OK After Massive Flip
Jalen Scransen was fine after his nasty flip in the Saskatchewan "Big One" on lap 44, he only sustained a mandibular fracture and should be back within 5-6 weeks.
"I just don't know what to say. We had a nice little run starting there, I believe we moved up around 15 spots before the yellows started to fly. I'm just feeling really bad for this team. We deserved more than a 33rd place standings finish. Could have won Salem, got wrecked, had other shots, just couldn't capitalize. I hate it that we couldn't get a win this year, I'm just feeling terrible for the guys."
Jason Miller, Keith Davis, furious with Tire
Jason Miller and Keith Davis were both standing outside their cars after the race, when we caught up with them for a word:
Keith Davis said, "We have come SO close this season. No sponsors, still in top 25, in contention for wins. We've improved so much. Again it happened today, me and Jason both had fantastic runs going, but you know, a tire issue and a fail driver screwed me over, and Jason had a tire go down when he clearly had the car to beat at the time. I'm furious with Goodyear right now, but still looking forward to next year. Also, congrats to Fred and the 13 team. Perfect season."
Jason Miller said, "I was getting excited my last KDR race was going to be a win. Going into turn 1 after a restart, I felt something pop, and that was it for my chances. I just don't know what to say. I'm looking for a ride and am hoping this translates to something good, but I just wanted that win today."

Legge happy to end a great season with second career win
After an incredible rookie season, Legge closes it with a win and he grabs the ROTY title.
"I feel great man i really do. I reached all my goals that i set, hell i surpassed my goals. My goals were to win one race and to finish in the top 15 in points! I just cant imagine having a better team behind me. With my contract extended till 2016 i feel good. Im happy to be able to continue working with them and our sponsors Godaddy.com, Doller General, Ask.com, and Cadillac. Most importantly, I thank Tim Ovota for taking a chance on me after the up and down 2010 season i had in AYG and for extending our contract so thanks Tim! Now that the season is over ill be able to shift my focus to Legge Motorsports and Evans Legge Racing. We got alot to work out and we're exited for the future! Lastly ill say goodbye to Fred Ritcher. Hes the most amazing racer ive ever seen on a race track and its been a privlage racing against. Goodbye Fred and good luck in the future."

Contey Responds to Keith Davis' Insult
On media day, Contey was asked how he reacted to Keith Davis calling him a "fail driver". He had this to say in response:
"I apologized to him for that incident shortly after that interview. It was just a factor of racing, y'know, no harm, no foul. We both feel the same way about the tires we raced on, and we both plan to do something about it."
