| 188 laps will decide the winner of this race. Congrats to Fred Ritcher on the title. I've included a few Ottawa/McKinley one-offs as well as put Lester in the 2 as per Renesse's request.
Here are the Q Race Results:

| A Tragedy Out On The Racetrack
During the course of this qualifying race, a cone was murdered, ironically by Matt Contey, who is helping to fund the Save-a-Cone foundation. Save-a-Cone has warned Contey about the incident, and a funeral for the cone will be held tomorrow morning. More details upcoming.

| Lowrey, Johnson Fued in Garage, More From Saskatchewan Q-Race
Ross Lowrey and Mike Johnson apparently were involved in a massive brawl in the garage area after the Saskatchewan 400 Qualifying Race. Johnson had turned Lowrey on lap 31 to create a melee on the front straightaway. Lowrey, known to be a rough guy, led his crew into the garage of Johnson and fists started flying. Both crews were involved in a massive, 10-minute brawl that was broke up by officials. Johnson left with a broken jaw and Lowrey went away unhurt. 6 crew members were injured and taken to the Saskatchewan Medical Center. Both drivers are expected to report to the AARO hauler at noon tomorrow.
Jacobs Edges Gerrelds for Q-Race Victory
Grant Jacobs led the most laps, 21, all of which came in the final run of the Saskatchewan 400 Qualifying Race. Jacobs took the lead from Louis Tellez on lap 73 and never looked back. "We just had a strategy and stuck with it. We're planning to use the same in the race on Sunday. I'm so excited for this race. I think we can be a competitor, we want to end this season on a high note". DiCario had the car to beat until a Bibson spin would damage the 96 and take him out of the race on lap 74. He led 15 laps.
Averell, Lester, Hyerski, Dawson, All Repeat McKinley Q-Race Performance, Will Race in Saskatchewan 400
Could Tim Averell be a favorite for Sunday's Saskatchewan 400? Many would believe so after his McKinley performance. Averell placed 17th, the final transfer spot, to advance to the AERS finale. Averell dominated his last AERS performance and is looking to continue that this weekend in his #5 Stanley Tools Dodge. Casey Lester, who placed 5th in that same McKinley race, also qualified in his #2 Best Buy Ford in his first race with Renesse Racing.

| Averell Prepared to Live Up to Hype
Tim Averell managed to work his way into the Saskatchewan 400 by taking the final qualifying spot, leading many to believe he has a chance to repeat his winning drive at McKinley. Averell said he doesn't know if he'll be able to pull off a win but promised he will "give the old guys a run for their money," and "prove that [Averell] deserve[s his] spot in the AERS." |

| Heavy Words Spoken At Cone's Funeral
Save-a-Cone was an organization started by Mr. Darcy Orrell, a longtime AARO fan and employee for the SC Supply Co., who helps the AARO get cones to the track. As a result of the many cones that have been lost on the racetrack as well as the dollars the SC Supply Co. loses to replace them, he started the Save-a-Cone foundation, and approached the Contey Motorsports stable to help fund it. This weekend, a cone was killed in an on track incident when it was struck by Matt Contey, ironically one of the drivers funding the company. The cone's funeral was held this morning, and Orrell spoke on the cone's behalf: "Every driver that was out on that track yesterday knew that these cones have lives of their own. Sure, crashes are a part of racing, but no cone should be put in a position where they should be harmed because of it. Contey has been warned, and should such an incident happen again, he will be indefinitely fined."
Save-a-Cone is currently trying to persuade the AARO to address this issue to the drivers race morning in the drivers' meeting.
