If you're referring to Transformers, there have been countless incarnations of that since the 1990s, the most recent being this February if you don't count the new movie. It's more relevant to today's culture than one would think.
Because retro is fashionable, instead of trying to be innovative and come up with something new.
Interesting that the Tribune building got destroyed in the third film, and they constantly gave the Transformers bad ratings...
Im glad someone else noticed that.....Also I love how they tried to pass Chicago off as DC for the first half of the movie....
