| Highlight to view:
Matt Contey very pleased with strong run
"We had some close deals there, but I can't tell you how pleased I am with the strong run we had today, we haven't had something happen like that since Texas about a year ago. It may have just been luck, I don't care, I feel as though I've won the race. If you'll excuse me, I'm to catch a plane going to Myrtle Beach, we've a championship to settle as well..." __________________________________________________________________________
When I say that I'm to "catch a plane going to Myrtle Beach", I'm referring to the NNRCS finale. I know it isn't in the same canon as the AARO, but it was for a short time...

Post-Race Interview With Jennifer Smith
Q: Jen Smith, two incidents today, the first fairly mild, but the next, it's safe to say, was quite scary. What happened?
A: First of all, for my fans watching this, I'm totally fine. Don't worry about me. Anyway, how'd it happen? Well, I was coming in for that last stop, and I thought I understood my speed but I didn't. The brakes locked up and I misjudged it. And I had no idea at all that in between the pavement, there was still that semblance of a pit wall that intelligently screwed me. (sighs) Maybe these officials will understand when someone else is gone that they have no idea at all how dangerous the pits are with that barrier just jutting out like that. Put some water barrels on or something, for Pete Wentz' sake!
Q: There you have it; some very strong words from Jennifer Smith.
Post-Race Interview With Herb Cilantro
Q: Herb Cilantro, you've just racked up another win here at the Portland road course, a track type your team isn't known for doing too well at. What contributed to your change in luck today?
A: Juist the way this track is set up, a lot o' flat corners that you constantly have to really crank the wheel to twist through...drives kinda like a short track. A really long short track. (laughs) That and, I'd say we've got more confidence now. We've all been working harder to get this NaturalCures.com Chevy Impala to really stay in contention now that we know we can put it there, and I think it shows with this.
Q: Did the incidents on pit road towards the end of the race concern you at all?
A: They would have if I woulda had to make a pit stop, I can tell ya that much. Granted, I knew it was unusual, it got down to 10-some laps to go and I looked at pit road thinkin' 'What the heck's goin' on?" Just hope everyone's alright is all.
Q: And what a way to go into the season finale, too, at the top of your game! What does this do for your championship hopes?
A: You're a racin' analyst and you're askin' me what puttin' 60-some points on my lead does for my championship hopes? It's awesome, man! It gives us that much more of a cushion. That's what points are for! I mean, I ain't sayin' we got it locked up yet, Jalen and Aaron are both awesome drivers and I'm really lookin' forward to racin' with them next week...but ya know, anythin' can happen, 'specially at Darlington. I ain't countin' my chickens.
Q: Well, thanks for your time. Best of wishes for next week.
A: 'Preciate it.

| Garth to AARO; disgrace of a race
Following the Kmart 200 at Portland, Florence Garth, former AARO champion, had some kind words of advice for the AARO officials. Keep in mind that Garth was penalized or fined over 15 times over the course of his career in the AERS, his mouth has been known to run.
"Anyone could have watched this race for ten minutes and laugh at it, or rather, go to sleep" "The AERS put on a terrible race today that probably handed Cilantro the title. It was weird because, during stops, everyone but Cilantro wrecked, weird eh?"
The AARO has responded with confirmation that pitstops will not occur in the 2011 running of the Kmart 200.
Scransen pleased with 11th place finish, but still not good enough
The driver who has been sitting in the 2nd spot for who knows how long, to Herb Cilantro, secured an 11th place finish at a disasterous Portland race. Scransen was quite impressed with his run since he struggled early on, however that finish would cost him. Bigtime.
With that 11th place finish, Scransen now trails by 93 points. That's a massive 55 points lost on Herb Cilantro. Scransen will have to win and lead the most laps to have a clear shot at winning the title.
"I think we gained some momentum with this finish believe it or not. We're up to the challenge, but we just have to remember that we cannot control what the 42 team does, we have to stay on top of our game the entire weekend."

| Cilantro Responds to Florence Garth:
"You think there's a conspiracy because all those people wrecked? Yeah, because the sanctioning body obviously has the technology to turn all those cars on demand straight into the barrier and endanger the lives of their drivers...I heard guys all week sayin' they had trouble gettin' into the pits even with fresh new brakes, so it don't surprise me a bit that they'd completely miss it after we'd run all those laps and the brakes got worn down. And if someone was trying to just hand me the title, I'm pretty darn sure Scransen and Fisher would have wrecked too. But last I checked they got through clean as a whistle."
