Scransen relieved in Victory Lane
How many top 5's can you get without winning. It seemed like hundreds for Scransen, been so close too many times. Victory was a taste away at Grand Detour, Boston, McKinley, Washington, and the list goes on and on. Scransen would always have the car to beat, only to be taken out of contention with bad luck or mistakes. Today was spotless for the 26 team, no mistakes, the perfect race.
Scransen had stayed near the front the entire length of the 200 miler. He was never really noticed until the closing stages of the race, where he and Grand Detour winner Jen Smith duked it out for the win. Lucky for Scransen, this time, she couldn't beat him. Better yet, one of the most prestigious races on the schedule.
"I can't believe it", Scransen said in tears, "We finally came through Kyle (Anist), finally, after all that we've been through, I can't believe it."
This marks the 12th different winner, and the 7th first time winner in 12 races in the 2011 season
Needless to say, this one was well deserved and was a long time coming. Congrats to Jalen.

| After race 12, it was determined that 40th and back in the points standings, cannot win the 2010 championship. The most points any driver can gain on the leader for these last races is 936 points. | |
