Ovota goes 19, 20 in Salem, each driver in

While each of the two Ovota drivers struggled, Tim Ovota was pleased with the results. Jates and Scransen finished 19th and 20th in Q-Race 1, respectively. "Sometimes it works out that way. Am I in shock? Yes. Do we need to step it up a notch? Certainly. We need to perform better if we're gonna get a good points finish this year. So far, we haven't showed it one bit. Hopefully, after both cars are in at a track where even the best don't make it, it's a great feeling".

Both Ovota cars have bad nights

While Salem is a short track, the Ovota team's strength, it also is a bowl of bad luck looming in the distance. Jalen Scransen and Alex Jates were quiet, although Scransen got off to a jump on the weekend starting near the front.

"We're still locked in for race three right?" Exclaimed Scransen, "No worries. I'm 9th in the points and Jates is 17th, no damage has been done yet. Let's qualify for race three and go from there. We'll be fine".

Alex Jates: "Haha, 41st, what a joke. Salem doesn't fit the AERS, take it off the 2011 schedule. It doesn't deserve a date. I'd rather race at Houston".

Ovota goes 1 for 2 in Boston Q-Race

Boston was not what Tim Ovota wanted. A bad wreck and a mediocre run. Jalen Scransen in the 26 barely managed to pull off a 16th place finish, in the race, at Boston.

"Car handled horribly all race. We have three practices to fix it up, and we'll go on from there. A little worried about the performance of the car this weekend, feels like the engine is going to go out any minute".

Alex Jates was involved in a wreck in turn three on lap three of the first Qualifying race. "Man, that was a wild ride. Feel dizzy but the doctors said I'm fine. Just wish I could've pulled it off, I love this racetrack".

Scransen gets another top ten

Jalen Scransen is on top of his game so far in 2010. He placed another top 10, his second of the 2010 campaign, finishing 4th, also a top five. Scransen is continuing his last year success in that #26 GoDaddy.com Cheverolet. "Can't believe how much a nice top 5 finish can boost the team, we're continuing to impress as the season goes along, I really think we have a shot at the title this year, I'm very confident at that."

Alex Jates happy about returning to favorite track

In Alex Jates' press conference, he was asked about what his favorite track was, Jates responded that he loved this racetrack, Grand Detour, here's how he described the high-banked short track:

"It's wide and racey. Lots of action all over the racetrack. Lots of passing opportunities. It's just fun. I really enjoy the way my car handles there, same for this weekend, we've got a great car."

"We're confident about our chances for Saturday's race. We led a lot of the Q-Race, car handled well in the short runs but I don't think we'll get a long run in, so we should be fine. Me and Jalen gotta impress the boss this weekend, hometrack."

Ovota somewhat strong at Grand Detour

Ovota Motorsports did exceptionally well at Grand Detour, until the end.

Alex Jates and Jalen Scransen each had strong cars throughout the 150 lapper. Scransen had his best chance of winning his first race. "Damn. Almost. Had the car to do it. Just got beat at the end. Need one of these soon!"

Alex Jates said, "Pole, didn't take advantage of it. Got wrecked at the end. Ah well, at least we made the race."
