Rumors around the garage are saying that Jen Smith, current driver of the #06 Cobra Starship Chevrolet in the AMP Energy Yung Guns series, may be promoted to AERS for next year.
"Yeah, it's certainly a possibility," said 426 Motorsports owner Vinny Mannucci. "If we are going to put her in, it won't be before the beginning of next season. I think she has the talent for the top level, but she needs just a bit more experience."
Reporters attempted to reach Smith on the subject, but all she had to say was "Don't take them rumors at their value in a cynical town. Can't you smell the stale air?"
Should the rumors be true, Smith will more than likely keep her trademark purple #06. No word on who will replace her in AEYG.
