2018 Reserve Driver Thread

For this season, a new addition is reserve drivers. Each team if they so choose, will employ a reserve contract. This driver is basically someone who fills in for any injuries/suspensions/etc., but also will act as the team's one-off driver for certain events.

A reserve driver doesn't have to be driving in a lower-tier, although as you will see, a lot of them are if filled. Some teams will and have had a driver available each weekend in case of injury/suspension. In short, the driver can be literally anyone as long as: 1) The driver is signed and within the organization, 2) The driver doesn't have any affiliation to another AERS race team. Any driver who is chosen or would like to sign, must sign a reserve contract. For drivers not affiliated to an AERS team, it will not affect their standing with their own teams, and will only bolster their development as they will attempt to qualify for select AERS events, and be a stand-by just in case a problem arises for that AERS team. Like I said, this will not affect any ANS/MRT/PTS driver in any way if they are signed to a reserve.

There are currently 4 reserve driver races. They are: Circuit Du Val-d'Or (Race 9), Vancouver (Race 13), Race TBD (Race 16/17), and Chicago Motor Speedway (Race 19).

ACS Racing has no plans to enter more than 4 cars in any race this season. Their development drivers are all under consideration as potential injury replacements and currently test and practice AERS cars on a weekly basis. However, there will be another car with deep ACS ties running this season...

ACS Racing will run one-offs under Carson Crompton's team name. Essentially, he will own the car in name only, all the equipment will be from ACS Racing. The driver will be Darren Reynolds, same as Crompton's truck series team, and Reynolds' ties to Monster Energy will provide the sponsorship on the car. The number will also be the same as the truck, #48. Reynolds will be racing on the series minimum contract. It is unknown how many events Reynolds will be entered in, but both he and mentor Crompton are keen to keep his rookie status in tact for the future.

Opening this to anyone who has lower tier drivers to post which driver and team they’d like, as long as they’re not affiliated to another team. I don’t think there’s many but I’m trying to get more user involvement in AERS, so before I fill in more of my teams entries I figured I’d open it up first.
