Cilantro Speaks Out About Concord Selection
While being locked into the 10th race of the AMP Energy Series season, at Coca-Cola Superspeedway, was very gratifying for rookie Herb Cilantro, he still was not afraid to voice his displeasure with the fact that that particular track was chosen by series officials to host the event.
"I don't see why we have to come here, goin' about 230 miles an hour even with plates, when we look at what happened this year," said Cilantro. "I mean, Brad Simmons crashed out in the Q-race at a track that I reckon is basically...a twin sister to this one, and now his kidneys are failin' and his career is probably done right there. Not to mention we got Frank Hackson, crashed out at Rattlesnake Point an' still hasn't come back, and of course...Carl Jones... (sighs sadly). I mean, the guys back at the 426 [Motorsports] shop have been workin' real hard on safety advancements to put in this NaturalCures.com Chevy, so that kinda lightens my load...but you never know. I just think it could be a potential disaster unless we slow them cars down, you know, give us a smaller plate or somethin'."
