Best Job Ever

Prologue

Come on Eric, this shouldn’t be this hard. Just write out your name, just like you did three years ago when you joined the Nationwide Series. You were only 19 when you did it, you’re 22 now, how are you more nervous now then you were then? Come on, you can do this.

I had those thoughts running through my head ever since I read my contract. I looked at my girlfriend, Kiara, on my right, and my soon to be boss, Roger Penske on my left. He gave me a look asking “Is anything wrong?”

I looked away and grabbed my pen. I wrote my signature as I usually did, spelling out the letters in my head as I usually did.

E-R-I-C M-O-L-I-N-A

There, I did it. I have now reached my ultimate goal. This day, December 29th, 2011, is now the best day of my life. I am now Eric Molina, driver of the number 12 Conway Freight Dodge, for Penske Racing.

“Welcome to the team son.” Penske said as he shook my hand. I’m gonna lose my mind when I get home. I know it. I turned to my girlfriend and received a hug and kiss. Yeah, this is gonna be the best day ever.

I sat back down for the press interview.

“Marty Reid, ESPN, Eric, what is it like signing on to Penske to drive in the Sprint Cup?”

“I didn’t think I’d ever have that much of a problem signing my name on a paper before,” I responded with a chuckle. “But really, I am ecstatic. I get to drive alongside and learn from the likes of Brad Kesolowski, A.J. Allmendinger, and Robert Caskey(A/N: Fictional driver, for a good friend of mine). I know they can teach me a lot about the world of Sprint Cup, and hopefully I can bring home a championship soon.”

“Well, I hope you’ll be able to do the same.” He said.

“Oh, and welcome to the world of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series”

Okay, changing it up a little, I need 3 more drivers, because I want a fictional team in this thing.
