| Hello and Welcome to the American Sports Channel Game Break.
This week the NAFL saw it's mixes of blowouts and tight, nail-biting games.
This weeks Game of the Week, voted by the fans, pinned the Escondido Scorpions and the San Francisco Gold
The Gold Rush striked first Rush with a 51 yard drive, after a nice return by Jones-Drew. Kyle Hall ran it for 2 yards, and the score.
The Scorpions easily matched them, driving 76 yards, capping it off with a 13 yard pass from Peyton Manning to Laverneous Coles.
The second and third quarters were the Maurice Jones'Drew show. He scored a toucchdown therough the air and on the ground to give the Gold Rush a 14 point lead.
A 38 yard Rob Bironas field goal with 5 seconds left in the quarter cut the Scorpions deficit to 11.
With three minutes left, The Scorpions got the ball on the 4 yard line. One 2:23 drive later, it was 6 points. After a 4 minute review, the 2-point conversion was deemed successful.
The onside kick was recovered by recovered by the Scorpions.
With 30 seconds, the Scorpions got the ball to the 49 yrd-line. 25 seconds later, they had the ball on the 2. Manning's pass was intercepted. However, an offsides gave the ball back to the Scorpions. Not taking another chance, they decide to kick the field goal. It was good. The two rivals entered the OT period with 21 points apiece.
The Scorpions drove the ball 80 yards on 5 plays and in 1:32 to win, 27-21.
That's it for this week's NAFL Game of the Week, we now return you to the World Ping-Pong Championship. |
