This weeks the AARO Advance Auto Parts Modified Tour swept through Delaware at the Dover International Raceway. The AAA Pole Award went to Ken Bryant in the #15 3M car.
Bryant leads the field to green:
In the first 20 laps of the 80-lapper, nobody could pass Bryant for the lead.
The field coming off turn two:
Caution 1, Lap 15Travis Johnson stalled the car on the backstretch.
After the first caution, cars became more loose as the tires started to wear off on Dover's concrete.
Finally, Paul Lovington Jr made the overtake on Bryant shortly after the restart:
Caution 2, Lap 29Tyrone Kestner spun Michael Craig into the inside wall. Also involved were: Erik Laycross, both Noah Krongozs, and Gerald Fontaine.
In the final 50 laps of the race, the lead cycled between Norts, McCoy, McBeel, Spurling, Raycroft, Dalton, Knight, Lovington, and Bryant.
Not a lot happened the rest of the way, but Noah Krongoz Sr did hold up the inside lane with about 20 to go, but they caught back up in half a lap.
With two to go, Treyson McBeel, running second, tried to make a move on race leader Adam Spurling, but found himself hung out to dry after the failed attempt.
That allowed Spurling to get a good jump on the rest of the pack, and Adam Spurling would win at Dover!
